JESUS KNOWS

When your heart is shattered
Lying in pieces on the floor
It really doesn't matter
If anyone else knows .. Jesus knows.

When you're face down at the alter
Hurting deep down to your core
There's One Who knows that kind of sorrow ...
Jesus knows.

Jesus knows when you are weary
Jesus knows the load you bear
He wants to be the One you lean on
When life seems unjust .. unfair.
He'll give you hope for a bright tomorrow
And see you through those highs and lows
If you'll just put your trust in Jesus
Cause Jesus knows.

Jesus knows when you are weary
Jesus knows the load you bear
He wants to be the One you lean on
When life seems unjust .. unfair.
He'll give you hope for a bright tomorrow
And see you through those highs and lows
If you'll just put your trust in Jesus
Cause Jesus knows.

If you'll just put your faith and trust in Jesus
Cause Jesus knows.

SEASONS

Whenever I see the sun’s rays
Peeking through the clouds,
It fills my heart with gladness
And makes me want to laugh out loud.

In the heat of the Summer,
When nothing’s stirring in the air.
Lying in the shade of an old Oak tree,
I enjoy the stillness there.

Taking a walk through the quiet woods,
On a crisp, clear Autumn day.
Feeling the leaves crunch beneath my feet
Makes me want to kneel and pray.

Then Winter rears it’s ugly head
And all the trees are bare.
Looking out the window at the sky,
Makes my mind wander up there.

When the buds of Spring start blooming
All things turning new again.
We need to stop and smell the roses.
And embrace the peace
That only comes from Him.

KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS

2009 Gerti M. Blackwell
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

Keep your eyes on Jesus
Stay focused in His Word.
He’ll speak to you of wonders past
Such things you’ve never heard.

He’ll fill your Spirit from within,
With truth, joy, peace and love.
And rain His many blessings down,
From His heavenly home above.

Don’t let the trials in this life now,
Distract you from your goal.
Of resting your eyes upon the Lord,
Feeling his love deep in your Soul.

To stand in the Presence of the Lord,
No description could suffice.
Even unbelievers hearts should melt,
For them too, He paid the price.

So keep your eyes on Jesus,
Let Him guide you in all you do.
Yes, keep your eyes on Jesus
Cause Jesus has His eyes on you.

Yes,keep your eyes on Jesus,
Let Him guide you in all you do.
Yes, keep your eyes on Jesus
Cause Jesus has His eyes on you.

THE LOVE OF JESUS

Chorus:
I may not have everything
That money can buy
Like mansions and yaughts
And Lamborghinis that fly.
But I have had real love
And I know this is true.
The One Who still loves me?
Yes Jesus … it’s You.

Verse:
You never let me forget
What’s important to me.
It’s not kept in a bank
Or floating on the high sea.

It’s nothing material
You can touch, see or smell.
It’s the Love of my Saviour
I now know so well.

You’ll never leave or forsake me
You promised You’d stay.
I know You live here inside me
I feel Your Presence each day.

Lord, please make me worthy
Of love You freely give.
A love like no other
My God, You died .. so I’d live.

Now You’re the One that I count on
To always be there.
Through the good times and bad times
You make me aware,

That no matter how much
Or how little I own.
My true treasure lies
At the foot of Your Throne.

Chorus:
I may not have everything
That money can buy
Like mansions and yaughts
And Lamborghinis that fly.

But I have had real love
And I know this is true.
The One Who still loves me?
Yes Jesus … it’s You.

Yes,I have had real love
And I know this is true.
The One Who still loves me?
Yes Jesus … it’s You.

BEAUTY IN HIS WORD

© 2009 Gerti M. Blackwell

The beauty in a sunrise
And a sunset can’t compare,
To the beauty of His written Word,
When we bow our heads in prayer.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Once these words are etched
Forever on our hearts,
we can never be the same.

Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done,
Here on earth as it is in Heaven.
This is what we all are waiting for,
It has already been proven.

Give us this day, our daily bread …
He sustains us every day.
And helps us forgive those
Who hurt us most,
And forgives us along the way.

Lead us not into temptation,
Deliver us from the Evil one.
We will never have to fight alone,
Our Victory has already been won.

The beauty in a sunrise
And a sunset can’t compare,
To the beauty of His written Word,
When we bow our heads in prayer.

Lead us not into temptation,
Deliver us from the Evil one.
We will never have to fight alone,
Our Victory has already been won.

I DON'T WANT TO GO DOWN THAT ROAD AGAIN

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

Chorus:
I don’t want to go
down that road again.
Where the nights
are long and lonely
And the walls keep closing in.
I called on His Name
to see me through
To be made whole
and totally brand new
So I won’t want to go back
down that road again.

Verse:
I don’t want to remember
those dark years
Before I found Jesus
through my tears.
He reminds me every day ..
By His Blood He
washed all my sins away
Now I won’t go back down
that long, dark road again.

Chorus:
I don’t want to go
down that road again.
Where the nights
are long and lonely
And the walls keep closing in.
I called on His Name
to see me through
To be made whole
and totally brand new
So I won’t want to go back
down that road again.

I called on His Name
to see me through.
To be made whole
and totally brand new.
Now I won’t go back down
that long dark road again.

Now I won’t go back down
that long dark road again.

Tiptoe Across The Lily Pads

F

There once was a very strange lady
Juddlebebobug, for short.
She loved to go down and sit by the pond
And practice her newfound sport.

Athletic now, she wasn’t
Stamina .. she did not possess.
Maybe this was just her way
Of relieving some of her stress.

She went down to the pond most every day.
Watching the frogs as they made their way
Across those lilypads, they ran
Then back again, to where they began.

So one fine day, she made a choice
And speaking in a low deep voice.
She warned those frogs to move aside.
Juddlebebobug was gonna take a ride.

She tested the water with her great big toe
Then stepping onto a lilypad, away she did go.
Hopping one to another, as fast as she could.
Juddlebebobug was actually pretty good.

Then suddenly, much to her surprise
A bull frog landed right between her eyes.
The pad flipped over, and down they went.
Landing on the bottom, like a block of cement.

Floating to the top, and gasping for air,
The big bull frog still had her by the hair.
Flipping her over, he pulled her to shore.
Then puffing out his throat, he gave a bull frog roar.

“Woman, if you tip toe on my lily pad again,
I can’t be held responsible for the pain you’ll be in.
These are my pads, and this is my pond.
So when I look up again, you had better be gone.”

Juddlebebobug left very wet and sore
Her lilypad jumping days, were to be no more.
But she gave herself credit for what she had done.
Tippy Toeing across those Lilypads
Sure had been fun.

Written for another of my very dear friends
with a wonderful sense of humor.

The Lady and Her Mule

Way up yonder
in the Ozark Mountains ..
High on a hill,
under the Arkansas sky.

Lives a very sweet lady,
with a mule named Willy..
He’s the King of the Mountain,
and that ain’t no lie.

He was raised from a baby
with her two loving hands.
The love he has for this lady
is something she understands.

The other horses, dogs, cats and goats
don’t stand a chance.
Willy lets it be known
he rules over this ranch.

He thinks he’s quite human …
he’s a jealous beast.
Don’t get too close to this lady,
unless you want your hair creased.

If you think you can come between them,
don’t be a fool.
Cause hardheaded Willy
is a one woman mule.

Written for a special lady in the Ozark Mountains
and her very special Mule, Willy.
